Ducati launches the highly anticipated Ducati Monster 2021 in India; the price starts from Rs 10.99 lakh

Luxury motorcycle brand Ducati today announced the launch of its brand new Monster range in India, with Monster priced at Rs 10.99 Lakes and Monster Plus priced at Rs 11.24 Lakes respectively (Ex-Showroom India ).

The new Monster represents all the essence of Ducati in the lightest, most compact and essential form possible. The recipe is the same as in 1993: a sporty engine, perfect for road use, combined with a frame derived from the Superbike.

The concept of the new Monster is similar to the unforgettable Monster 900, the first true naked sport, but completely redesigned. The result is a bike with an advanced and easy frame, able to immediately establish the perfect feeling with the rider. The driving position is less strained on the wrists and the engine offers an excellent balance between power, torque and handling.

To create the new Monster, the engineers and designers started from scratch, but with a clear idea of the key points of the new bike. Thin and agile, the bike incorporates the DNA of each Monster which makes it immediately recognizable: fuel tank in the shape of a “buffalo back”, round headlight “recessed in the shoulder”, clean tail and engine in the center of the scene. .

Bipul Chandra, General Manager of Ducati India, said: “The new Monster is a real star for everyone at Borgo Panigale. A brand that has marked Ducati’s history like few others, becoming our best-selling model since Ducati sold it. more than 350,000 motorcycles since the launch of the Monster in 1993. The new Monster is an all new bike, designed to be more sporty, lighter and easier to ride, to make it accessible to new riders as well as to those who are more globally we had a terrific response for the new Monster and I have no doubts that it will be a hit among the cycling community in India as it suits our riding conditions perfectly as a naked and light Ducati which is just plain fun! »Sporty and fun.

The new Monster receives a new engine, a Testastretta 11deg, 937 cc L-twin, with Desmodromic distribution and BS6 homologation. Compared to the previous 821, the new engine increases displacement, power, torque and decreases weight (-2.4 kg) to contribute to the lightness of the motorcycle and offers a much better riding experience. It now develops 111 hp at 9250 rpm with peak torque of 93 nm delivered at just 6500 rpm, proving efficient and responsive in throttle response. Thanks to the increased displacement, torque improves at all speeds, especially in the medium-low range, the most used on the road and between turns. This ensures thrilling performance as well as ease and driving pleasure, also supported by the new gearbox and the standard Ducati Quick Shift Up / down.

Light.

To ensure maximum enjoyment, we have paid great attention to weight reduction when creating the new Monster. The chassis, accessories and structures have been completely redesigned to create a compact and lightweight bike, perfect for everyday use as well as for sports use.

The aluminum front frame reproduces the same concept as that of the Panigale V4. It is short and attached directly to the cylinder heads of the engine. With a weight of only 3 kg, this frame is 4.5 kg (60% lighter) lighter than the previous trellis, reducing the dry weight of the bike to just 166 kg.

Each component is redesigned and lightened; the rims lose 1.7 kg, and the swingarm weight is 1.6 kg less. The rear cradle is reduced by 1.9 kg, thanks to GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) technology, which has made it possible to optimize shapes and surfaces for the benefit of lightness and dimensional compactness. The overall weight gain is an impressive 18 kg compared to the Monster 821.

Easy, in any situation.

The seat height from the ground is 820 mm. This, combined with the narrow sides of the bike, makes it easy for the rider to put their feet on the ground. A seat is available as an accessory which reduces the seat height to 800 mm, while maintaining good padding. In addition to the low saddle, a suspension kit is available as an accessory, which further lowers the bike by reducing the saddle height to 775mm.

To ensure maximum maneuverability at low speeds and facilitate maneuvering when stationary, the steering angle has been increased to 36 degrees (+7 degrees compared to the 821). The handlebars are now closer to the rider’s torso by around 7 cm to have an upright riding position which guarantees greater comfort and better control. The position of the feet has also changed, and all of this translates into easier driving, even in the city.

Technological.

Standard equipment includes ABS Cornering, Traction Control and Wheelie Control, all adjustable to different levels of intervention. The sporty character of the bike is underlined by the Launch Control, which guarantees lightning-fast starts. This electronic equipment also makes it possible to express the performance of the bicycle with a high level of active safety.

The new Monster is equipped with three riding modes (Sport, Urban, Touring) which allow the character of the bike to be shaped according to different riding preferences and needs. Everything is managed via the handlebar controls and the bike now has a new 4.3 color TFT dashboard with racing graphics inspired by the Panigale V4, with a large tachometer that also shows the gear position. .

Personalization symbol.

To make each Monsterista stand out from the crowd, Ducati has created sticker kits that showcase the shapes of the Monster and celebrate Ducati’s sportiness. For those who wish to accentuate the style of their Monster even more decisively, cover kits will also be available.

As with all Ducati motorcycles, a wide range of Ducati Performance accessories is also available, such as the Termignoni approved double silencer with carbon fiber end caps. All customization options are available in the section of the site dedicated to the online configurator at Ducati.com.

The new Monster is available in Ducati Red and Dark Stealth with black wheels and Aviator Gray with GP Red wheels. For those who want a bike with an even sportier image, a Plus version is available in the same colors, which comes with an aero windshield and the rear seat cover as standard equipment.
