Know Before Dining Out – Read This Week’s Restaurant Inspection Reports | Business

The Environmental Health Division of the Victoria County Public Health Department inspects places where food is served in Victoria, DeWitt, Jackson and Calhoun counties.

In inspection reports, each violation in priority items 1 to 20 is worth 3 demerit points; Priority Foundation elements 21-33 are 2 demerits; and the basic elements are 1 demerit. Zero is a perfect score, while 100 demerit points is the worst possible score.

Every Wednesday, the Lawyer publishes the results of the previous week’s inspections. All demerits are noted, but only priority and essential items are detailed.
